Cancelation, Rescheduling, and Refund Policies
Devra Katz Yoga really do understand that life changes from day to day and that often includes the unexpected. I try to be as flexible and understanding as possible. Nonetheless, I consider a commitment to practice a priority, and I strive to keep our community accountable and fair, especially in light of the small class sizes. Please keep in mind when I schedule a class with you, behind the scenes I may also be scheduling babysitters, driving to you, saying no to another client etc.
When you purchase any item from the studio, you agree to the following policies. So please read them carefully! The following policies apply for all* classes including in-studio classes, online classes, and private classes.
*Please note, workshops and special events may have cancelation policies specific to that event. They will be clearly posted with your event registration, so please check there.
- All purchases are non-refundable.
- Payment must be made prior to the start of class. Online payment and registration is preferable. If you are paying in cash, please arrive early enough prior to the start of class time in order to sort payment.
- Students must register for class prior to attending. Registration for group classes is open up until one hour prior to the start of class or until the class is full. If you have signed up for the waiting list, you will be notified via email (and text message?) if a space opens up for you.
- Students needing to cancel are required to notify the studio via the website and class registration at least 24 hours prior to the start time of class. Cancelations made 24 hours or more prior to the start of class will receive a refund in class credit (your class will be returned to your class pass and will be available for use within the expiration period of the pass.)
- Cancelations made within 24 hours of the start of class will be charged and your class will be deducted from your pass.
- Students can reschedule their group class attendance by canceling their original registration and simply choosing another class, as long as it is more than 24 hours before the start of class.
- Students can reschedule a private class by canceling their original registation and booking a new time per Devra’s availability, as long as this is done more than 24 hours prior to the start of the original class.
- It is the student’s responsibility to cancel their registration on time via the website. Whatsapp (or other) messages sent directly to Devra in order to cancel will not be granted.
- Should the studio be closed or Devra must cancel, your class will be refunded to you in class credit.
- Should the studio be closed for one week or more, your class pass expiration date will be extended to account for the closures. Please note, since the studio offers multiple classes per week, if one class must be canceled on a one-time basis, your class pass expiration will not be extended since other class options will be available.
- Should both online classes be canceled, your online class pass will be extended to account for the closures. However, if only one of the two classes are canceled your class pass will not be extended.
- If you have an active class pass and will be traveling for an extended period of time, please let Devra know in advance and you can freeze your class pass for the duration of your absence (minimum one week.)*
*You will need to show Devra proof of your travel plans. This policy is not applicable if you simply can’t make your usual class for one week.
- In-studio class passes, online class, passes, and private class purchases are not interchangeable. Each purchase must be used for its intended item.
- Regarding private classes, payment for the class will remain the same, regardless of how many people actually attend. For example, if your group schedules a three-person class, but in the end only two can attend, payment will not be returned or prorated to account for the absence of the third person.
- Payment for private classes will be made in one payment and it is the participants’ responsibility to divide costs amongst themselves however they choose. For example, should two people want to book a session together, the full amount of a two-person private class will be paid in one payment with online registration and the two participants can work out reimbursements to each other amongst themselves.
Health Policy
Your health and safety are always a priority to me. In the event that you are sick (with any illness), I ask you to honor your health and respect your community by staying home, even if it means forfeiting a class (if you miss your cancelation window.) The shala is an intimate space and I always want everyone to feel comfortable.
In the event of a closure due to Covid or other such illness, refunds will not be issued. Any classes purchased can be applied towards online classes.
Devra Katz Yoga reserves the right to determine the health policy of the shala and will comply with any regulations in place.
